Abstract:

This document introduces the platform-driven service delivery model to the EGI community. It defines the term platform and how IT platforms fit into the current and emerging EGI ecosystem.
After providing an overview of the EGI platform architecture, the first part of the document describes the different platforms in more detail. The second part of the document provides a roadmap on the adoption of the platform-based architecture and the service delivery model used by the European Grid Infrastructure.
