Abstract:
The Biosystems and Integrative Sciences Institute (BioISI) is a public research & development (R&D) unit of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), under the management responsibility of FFCUL (FCUL Foundation), a nonprofit public organization founded by FCUL. FCUL (b.1911) is one of the leading schools of sciences in Portugal and a main component of the Lisbon University.

BioIsI was officially created in January 2015 from the merger of 3 research centres from the areas of Biology, Physics and Computer Science, its main aim is to understand and address biological questions using integrative-systems approaches. Overall BioISI has 101 members holding a PhD, organized in 8 research groups of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA)
