Abstract:

This report is the final report of the ‘Science Gateway Primer’ Virtual Team (SGP-VT) project. The project ran between May 2012 and December 2012 by the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) collaboration with the main aim to create a comprehensive document, a 'Science Gateway Primer' available at https://documents.egi.eu/document/1463. The Primer document collects information about technologies, policies, and solutions concerning science gateways, i.e. about community-specific set of tools, applications, and data collections that are integrated together via a web portal or a desktop application, providing access to resources and services from EGI. This report describes the work that was carried out by the representatives of 15 nations participated in this work, reports about achievements of the activities and captures the issues and actions that have been identified by the project but will be dealt with by EGI members outside of the Virtual Team project.
